Women’s volleyball coach, former player makes it to the 3C2A Hall of Fame

El Camino College’s beach volleyball and former women’s volleyball coach was inducted into the California Community College Athletic Association’s Hall of Fame during the organization’s annual convention in Sacramento in late March. LeValley Pattison coached the El Camino women’s volleyball program for 26 years and founded the beach volleyball program in 2016. She was also a former student who helped take the Warriors to an undefeated state championship season in 1983. Pattison is part of the 400-win club and has an overall record of 404-125. Read more.
Moorpark College men’s volleyball team raids Warriors’ home in sweeping fashion
The Moorpark College men’s volleyball team swept El Camino College 3-0 in its own backyard to beat the Warriors for a second time. The two teams played on April 4 at the ECC Gym Complex, the Raiders routed the Warriors 25-20, 25-17 and 25-15 in three sets. The Warriors finished the season 4-14 and missed the playoffs. Read more.
El Camino Beach Volleyball sweeps Cerritos College for second win against the Falcons on the season

The El Camino beach volleyball team took home a win in dominating fashion despite the efforts of Cerritos College. The Warriors swept the Falcons 5-0 at the ECC Sand Courts on Friday, April 5. The Warriors finished the regular season at 14-4 and will start the South Coast Conference Tournament (Pairs) on April 19-20. Read more.

MyECC gets a complete makeover after 20 years
Over a month after it launched a new version of MyECC on March 11, the El Camino College Information and Technology Services is still working on some hiccups for the web portal.
The old version, which launched in 2003, was challenging to navigate and had broken links, according to the data and feedback collected by the El Camino College Information and Technology Services from faculty and students. Read more.
Summer program available for El Camino faculty to learn more inclusive teaching skills

While students are enjoying their summer break, El Camino College faculty members will be heading back to the classroom.
Polly Parks, an associate professor of biology, announced during the April 16 Academic Senate meeting that sign-ups are now open for a professional development program that will begin in June.
The Teaching Academy for Continuous Learning is a two-part, intensive paid professional development program designed to help faculty learn skills they can use to build a more inclusive classroom. Read more.

El Camino students spring into dance with upcoming performance
Advanced dance students have been busy this semester rehearsing for their upcoming Advanced Dance Concert in May. The performance will feature pieces choreographed by students and professors as well as Keith Johnson and Rebecca Lemme, dance professors from Cal State Long Beach who have their own dance companies.
