Third defendant extradited, arraigned for murder of El Camino student

The third defendant accused of murdering 21-year-old El Camino College student Juan Hernandez was arraigned at a courthouse in Downtown Los Angeles on Monday, Nov. 21. On Sept. 22, 2020, Hernandez left his home on Adams Boulevard in South Central Los Angeles to go to work. Hernandez’ family members never saw him again. Read more.
Student housing plans for 2023 up in the air
Student housing plans are being debated among El Camino College administration officials as the deadline for Assembly Bill 190 approaches. Assembly Bill 190 is a Higher Education Student Housing Grant Program that provides the campus with a one-time grant to construct low-cost housing options for students. Read more.

Warriors men’s basketball sets the tone against Barstow

The Warriors men’s basketball team was victorious against the Barstow College Vikings (110-69) in their eighth game of the season. Now 6-2 overall, the Warriors will be heading to Palm Desert to face an 0-5 College of the Desert on Dec. 1 at 5 p.m. Read more.

2022 Discovery Film Series ends with ‘On Assignment: Baja California’

The Discovery Film Series for fall 2022 will come to an end this year with “On Assignment: Baja California” by award-winning photographer Rich Reid on Monday, Dec. 12, with screenings at 3 and 7:30 PM. Spring 2023 will see four new films being introduced, starting with “Adventures of a Wildlife Filmmaker,” premiering on Feb. 6, 2023. Read more.
