Letter From The Editor
Getting in the groove
This Monday marked eight weeks that have gone by so far this fall 2023 semester.
Speaking personally this semester has felt somewhat oxymoronic to me. While I could swear that the first day of class was just a few weeks ago, somehow, I’d also believe it if you told me we had been in classes for 14 weeks and not eight.
They say time flies by when you're having fun but time also tends to drag when you're feeling stressed. I guess when you experience both you get the contradictory feelings that I’m getting now.
I’m starting to feel the stress but I’m also seeing positive signs.
This week especially The Union news team has really been getting into the groove of things.
The semester began with a relatively new team and over these past eight weeks, I have seen student editors and reporters get more comfortable in their roles. It’s an amazing feeling to be part of a team and see members growing and gaining confidence before my eyes.
This week I could feel the cohesion in the newsroom improving and with another print week creeping up on us pretty soon it's a good feeling to have. With another eight weeks and three print editions left to go The Union is ready to tackle the second half of this semester.
No matter how fast or slow it goes.
