A note from our Editor-in-Chief:
Hello, my name is Omar Rashad and I am the Editor-in-Chief of The Union, El Camino College’s student-run, local newspaper. Before the coronavirus impacted our daily lives, we printed newspapers every two to three weeks and published stories on our website daily.
It’s been a while since we’ve gotten to interact with our community like before, so we decided to launch a newsletter — in fact, what you’re reading right now is its first issue.
Every other Monday morning, you can expect top stories delivered right to your inbox. With the impacts of the coronavirus far-reaching, The Union has also expanded its scope of coverage to include cities where the El Camino community resides, including Gardena, Hawthorne, Torrance, Inglewood, Carson, Lawndale, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach.
It can seem like there are a lot of negatives right now, but we grow stronger as individuals when we get closer with our community. While that may not be a possibility in person, we hope to be the bridge to connect you to the people, the news and information you may not be getting anymore. We actually have a surprise for you and it can be found at the end of this newsletter. Hint: it’s called Editor’s Choice.
Look through this newsletter to get briefed on everything you need to know. Feel free to also share this newsletter by clicking on the button below. We talk with countless people every day to get information so you can read important updates at your fingertips. Feel free to reach out to me if you’d like to share any questions or comments.
Warm Regards,
Omar Rashad

A little bit about The Union
