College officials weigh in on proposed free speech policies

Two newly proposed policies regarding the right to expression on campus have raised concerns at recent meetings with college leadership. The new policies will outline the time, place and manner for when students, employees and the public can exercise free speech at El Camino College. Read more.
Survey shows El Camino employees want improved communication with college leadership

Results from a recent survey show that El Camino College employees indicate improvements are needed with the college’s communication, executive leadership, and work environment. Out of 1391 respondents, 98 reported that the college’s leadership needs to improve communication, vision, and direction. Read more.
Annual class schedules planned at El Camino for future semesters

Year-round class schedules would allow students to plan an entire year of classes iin advance instead of choosing classes only for the next immediate semester. These schedules are being developed for the upcoming fall and spring semesters at El Camino College. Read more.

US Rep. Maxine Waters hosts meet and greet at El Camino College
U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters answered questions and provided updates on her work in Washington, D.C., at an address to the El Camino College community Thursday, March 20. Waters, who represents California’s 43rd Congressional District, spoke at several colleges, including ECC, Compton College and Los Angeles Southwest College. Read more.
Behind the curtains: A look into the musical ‘RENT’
The El Camino College Theatre Department presents “RENT,” a musical which portrays young artists and musicians as they try to create a life in New York amid the HIV/AIDS outbreak during the 1990s. Read more.

Women’s softball keeps win streak alive
The Warriors softball team pulls away in the bottom of the third inning extending their win streak to three games. El Camino’s momentum in the first inning kept a strong lead as infielder Cheyenne Navarro reached first base and later stole second. Read more.
El Camino women’s swim team dives past East Los Angeles

The Warriors women’s team swam against the Huskies in relay, freestyle, backstroke, butterfly and individual medley competitions. All the women on the Warriors team earned personal bests throughout the events. Read more.
