Engineering student assaulted in hate crime, fall 2020 comes to an end
Free local news about your community delivered right to your inbox.
Hello Warriors!
As the fall 2020 semester comes to a close, I think we’ll all remember this one for a long time. A semester like no other, we’ve been completely virtual and many of us haven’t stepped foot on-campus at El Camino College since March.
Like our first two, this newsletter and the next will also include special neighborhood coverage from our reporters who found someone in their community who is facing the burden of the Coronavirus Pandemic, and shared a little piece of their stories.
Despite not being on-campus, The Union has covered ECC news all semester and will continue to do so throughout winter break and into fall 2021. While we won’t begin publishing newsletters again until late February, our website, eccunion.com will be updated periodically with breaking news, along with our social media platforms, @eccunion.
It’s been a pleasure to report on this college for the last few months, and we’re very eager to begin producing again in the fall. Until the next newsletter, happy holidays and safe wishes. May next year be absolutely nothing like this one.
Thank you all for subscribing, reading, and supporting our program.
Best regards,
Molly Cochran
Editor-in-Chief, The Union

A little bit about The Union
The Union is El Camino College’s student-run newspaper and the only local source of news for its college community. Everything published by The Union is done by student journalists. Whether it’s pulling an all-nighter to write human interest stories or push everything aside in order to deliver breaking news, our entire staff works incredibly hard to keep the El Camino community informed.
With the impacts of the coronavirus far-reaching, The Union has expanded its scope of coverage to include countless communities where El Camino College’s students, professors, employees and community members live. This includes more coverage on coronavirus and its impacts on cities including Gardena, Hawthorne, Torrance, Inglewood, Carson, Lawndale, Manhattan Beach, and Redondo Beach.
If you have any comments or questions about this issue of The Union’s newsletter or any of the stories you’ve read, please contact our Editor-in-Chief Molly Cochran by emailing her at molly_cochran@elcamino.edu. If you feel satisfied with what you read today, let us know by sharing this newsletter and tagging us on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.
