El Camino College trustee member Clifford Numark is running for City Mayor in the Torrance City Council elections on June 7. His campaign emphasizes education, environment and physical and financial health. Numark has launched programs for disadvantaged students such as South Bay Promise. Read more.
Clubs have returned on campus

El Camino College clubs have started to make a transition back to on-campus meetings and events, and more students have opportunities to make brand new connections with other individuals and subjects they have interests in. Review: El Camino Jazz concert presented unique yet laid-back experience to music listeners

A Jazz Band concert was presented by El Camino College's Center for the Arts on May 25 at the Marsee Auditorium. It was entertaining and received a lot of attention from the audience as well as the staff, as they performed smooth and melodic jazz music in a laid-back atmosphere. Read more.

A free performance showcasing different styles of traditional Mexican music and dance closed out the celebration of Chicano Culture at El Camino College. Two dancing groups, Xipe Totec and Nuestras Raíces, performed while musical group Conjunto Hueyapan played traditional son jarocho music of Veracruz, Mexico.

The Veterans Resource Center held a Memorial Day Tribute on Monday, May 23 in the East Dining Hall to remember the lives of military men and women who dedicated their all to serve while showing the understanding of expertise, discipline and professionalism of military training. Watch here.

Possible threat against student under investigation by El Camino Police Department

A threat of violence made against a student is being investigated by El Camino College Police Department. on Wednesday, May 18 at 1 p.m., an unnamed male student reported that he received a phone call threatening him and others with violence. Read more.
Student concerns and preferences prompts introduction of new prioritization method for online faculty
