Letter From The Editor
And now a word from our audience
We here at The Union work hard to make sure stories are accurate.
While some may see our publication as just another class, we journalism students take our jobs seriously.
Now, sometimes mistakes do happen, not an excuse but just the reality of the situation when you have multiple students turning in stories on a near daily basis.
Sometimes the mistake is a person feeling they have been misrepresented.
Speaking for myself, let me say I can understand a persons trepidation and fear at feeling like their words have been taken out of context. In these instances The Union appreciates when these sources reach out to voice their dissatisfaction with us immediately and directly, thus allowing an open dialogue to try and solve the problem.
The first step to solving a disagreement is by voicing it after all.
In that same vein of thought and in the spirit of full transparency, I want to take this space to remind anyone who has felt dissatisfied or has disagreed with The Union’s coverage there is always the option to write in to voice your concerns directly via a community column or a letter to the editor.
With details found in our sites about section, columns and letters are two different methods for our readers to voice their opinions directly to us and to the public at large.
The Union is open to publishing community columns and letters from readers even when the feedback is critical of us and our work.
So, whether you have praise or concerns The Union wants to hear from you, don’t be afraid to make your voices heard.
We’re a community after all.
