El Camino employees raise concern over work environment at Academic Senate meeting

Faculty shared concerns over workplace treatment during the Campus Climate Survey presentation at the Academic Senate meeting on May 3. Data collected from a Campus Climate Survey showed an 8% decrease in employees reporting a sense of being “valued as an individual.” Read more.

Warriors beach volleyball punches ticket to State Championship

The El Camino Beach Volleyball team has earned their way to the California Community College Athletics Association State Championships. After beating MiraCosta and Long Beach City College, the Warriors have a chance to possibly win the championship title for the first time in program history. Read more.
Baseball and softball to start Southern California regionals
El Camino’s softball and baseball teams are starting their Southern California regionals. Both teams will have their first of three games on Friday, May 6. Read more.
HEALTH
El Camino passes 500 COVID-19 cases
El Camino has now passed 500 total COVID-19 cases, nine of which have been confirmed in the past five days. With these cases come information about the increase of cases compared to the previous month. Read more.
ARTS & FEATURES
Forensics team makes history once again

The El Camino College Forensics team made yet another historic accomplishment in speech and debate tournaments after the team won the Phi Rho Pi National Championship for the first time, as well as the first place in the National Parliamentary Tournament of Excellence for both two and four-year institutions once again. Spring play ‘Everybody’ to premiere on May 13
El Camino College’s Center for the Arts will be presenting a production of “Everybody” starting May 13, a play about an immersive, metaphysical experiment about the journey to death play by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, and directed by Jayongela Wilder. Read more.
El Camino College Center for the Arts presents Women’s chorale
A one-night performance by El Camino College Chorale, Concert Choir and Women’s Chorus will be held on May 15 at 7 p.m. in the Marsee Auditorium. The show is directed by Joanna Medawar Nachef and Soyun Kang, with performances featuring works by Robert Ray, Felix Mendelssohn, Aaron Copland, Morten Lauridsen and more. Read more.

After a two-year absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Union’s staff is proud to reintroduce our physical newspaper! You can find the first edition of out spring 2022 newspaper issue on news racks located around the El Camino College campus starting today.
