Campus and community leaders team up for 'CommUnity' walk against hate

On March 26, Board of Trustees members, ECC President Thames, county and state representatives and El Camino College community members gathered on campus to participate in a walk to raise awareness for the issue on the increase in hate crimes and incidents against the Asian community. The walk around campus was preceded by speeches from officials and followed by a senior self-defense workshop hosted by Seniors Fight Back. Read more.
Journalists of El Camino College Union newspaper represent in New York

Members of the El Camino College Journalism department landed in New York City on March 8 to attend a journalism conference hosted by the College Media Association. By day, editors and reporters took notes and listened to speakers give advice as professionals in the field, but by night, they went exploring. New Bookstore cafe expected to finish construction on March 31

The old Manhattan Deli is about to be replaced by El Cappuccino as the eatery/ coffee shop next to the bookstore. Construction is scheduled to be completed on Thursday, March 31. Read more.
El Camino’s baseball field struggled to become the field it is today

After three years, following safety complaints, new installations added to El Camino College’s baseball field helped to deal with the issues. However, upon approval and the start of construction, the field saw unforeseen environmental and financial challenges that added additional costs to the construction budget. Read more.

Warriors Beach Volleyball win streak continues after defeating Rio Hondo and Moorpark

Support unhoused students by letting them sleep overnight in their cars

In 2019, El Camino had the ability to help with Assembly Bill 302, helping and allowing homeless students to park their vehicles on campus lots and sleep in them overnight. While previous administration at El Camino went against the bill, El Camino's new administration has the ability to right the wrongs of the past. Read more.

Woodworking class allows students to grow as creative individuals
With the return to in-person classes, woodworking classes at the Construction Technology building teach students hands-on skills on wood tools and machinery and allow students to grow as creative individuals through constructing their wooden projects. Read more.
Writing Center provides welcoming environment to help students’ writing
Regardless of their academic situation, students can receive professional feedback and guidance from expert tutors in the Writing Center where they can gain more confidence in their English and grammar skills and improve their competency in writing. Read more.

Spring Feast event bring Muslim college students from South California together
